Sheikh Al Syed Yousuf Al Syed Hashim Al-Rifai
Sheikh Al Syed Yousuf Al Syed Hashim Al-Rifai, born in Kuwait, was elected a
member of the
first National Assembly of Kuwait established in 1963 after the independence of
the country. He was
appointed Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs. As a Minister of State he
attended many Summit
conferences accompanying the Ameers of Kuwait, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem
Al-Sabah and Sheikh
Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah. He plays a pioneering role in preaching the message of
Islam and
spreading the teachings of the true religion throughout the world. Sheikh Al
Syed Yousuf is the
President of the Muslim Minority Commission of the Motamar till today. He
established the World
Islamic Federation for Information and Preaching of Islam in association with a
number of
prominent Islamic personalities in Lahore at its head office. He established,
Ma'ahad Al Eiman Al
Share'e, Institute for Islamic Law and Religion to teach Islamic law along with
other Islamic and
modern subjects in accordance with the system of education followed in the
University of Al-Azhar.
He issued Al-Balagh, the first Islamic and political weekly magazine in the
whole of the Arabian
peninsula and Gulf region. He has written numerous books on Islam.
