Makeup and Prayers
I
put on makeup like most women, and I pray with it on. Is makeup
allowed or forbidden and is my prayer accepted?
A. If she had put
the makeup on before ablution and the makeup did not prevent water
from reaching her face during ablution, and she prayed at home with
the makeup, under these stipulations it is acceptable. She can make
ablution and then put on makeup or she can use makeup which is permeable
and allows the water to reach the face completely, in which case it
is permitted. But if she applies makeup before making ablution which
prevents water from reaching her face, her ablution will be invalid
and her prayer is not accepted. |
