Ismail Dhul-Qarnayn is a student of Shariah and tazkiyyat. He has spent the last several years studying with Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Before his conversion to Islam, Ismail was an NCAA basketball player. His tremendous height (7') and exceptional talent made his career outlook look very promising. However, upon accepting shahada and taking up learning Islam under the direction of Shaykh Hisham, he dedicated his life to studying Islamic Shariah and tazkiyya according to the Traditional Schools of Islamic jurisprudence (the Madhdhahib) and the schools of doctrine (`aqida) and Purification (tasawwuf or tazkiyya).

Currently, Ismail Dhul-Qarnayn is highly active in doing da`wah in the SF Bay area and in continuing his studies of Islamic Shariah and tasawwuf. He has recently become renowned for his powerful and accurate responses to the arguments of the "Salafis" on the Internet where his presence has proved a stumbling-block to those who would dupe innocent students and young people with false accusations against Ahl as-Sunna wal-Jama`at.

Ismail Dhul-Qarnayn intends to accompany Shaykh Hisham Kabbani and other scholars to the Ahl as-Sunna Conference to be held in Sri Lanka during the weekend of June 13-14, 1998.
